About this role

The Growth & Strategy Internship at Badger Maps is a unique opportunity to get first-hand technical experience at a startup using a variety of business intelligence tools.

 

This internship is focused on market research, data analytics, and growth strategies. You will work closely with the CEO to discover our business needs and challenges. You will also directly work in helping the Marketing team conduct market research and identify notable trends in the field sales industry all backed by research. You will gather intelligence on our competitors and map out the market landscape all while gaining an understanding of how Badger should respond to dynamically shifting marketplaces. This is all in efforts to identify opportunities for growth within the company and develop effective strategies to ensure Badger continues to grow.

 

You will be responsible for researching potential leads for Badger via effective growth strategies specific to a startup tech ecosystem. Leads may come from prospects or current individual customers. This is a great internship for someone looking to learn the ins and outs of how a startup operates. It is also a perfect opportunity to get your hands dirty by analytically implementing effective growth strategies.

 

It’s important to note that candidates need to have prior experience with a variety of different Business Intelligence Tools (i.e. Tableau, Python, Close.io, Google Analytics, Excel) as we will provide guidance but no formal training. The perfect candidate is someone who is autonomous and creates their own solutions and projects to problems and challenges that Badger faces.

This role requires advanced marketing, data analytics, and research skills. You will have the freedom to pursue your own projects that interest you and see your immediate impact at Badger. Projects vary greatly on Badger’s needs at the time.

 

Some examples of past projects include:

- Domain Domination (account-based marketing)

- Improving customer feedback collection method

- Advanced research of relevant competitors

- Business plans for international visas

 

Requirements

What we are looking for:

  • Currently pursuing or recently graduated from a bachelor or masters in data science, marketing, sales, finance, business, or any other related field
  • Excellent control of the English language, both verbal and in writing
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and in writing.
  • Self-sufficient, independent team player
  • An entrepreneurial spirit that is resourceful and tenacious, eager to pursue own projects, and is broadly interested in different aspects of a tech startup.
  • Strong skills using Business Intelligence Tools (i.e. Tableau, Python, Close.io, Google Analytics, Excel) and comfort when performing analysis with little information or unclear data sources.
  • Someone who genuinely enjoys solving problems in a creative manner.
  • Someone who is detail-oriented and organized as you will be constantly working with large sets of data
  • Excellent ability to talk about data science/data analytics in a manner that is understandable to non-analytical people
  • Must be comfortable with a fast-paced startup environment and taking on new challenges.
  • Someone who promptly assesses information, instantly recognizes valuable information, and draws relevant conclusions for Badger Maps.
